A Maria Santisima de Guadalupe -- Sovereign Empress of Heaven and Earth (1721)

To Mary Most Holy of Guadalupe

Sovereign Empress of Heaven and Earth:
Before the sun-drenched reflections of your lights,
clothed with the sun,
the darkness of my ignorance draws near,
so that by your grace it may emerge
from a certain doubt and thus satisfy
the common people’s suspicion,
with which their arrogance might slander me.
